Sandra D. Buchko

Sandra Buchko specializes in hotel and commercial real estate transactions, including office and retail leasing, acquisitions and sales of commercial properties, and financing.  Prior to law school, she spent 13 years in commercial real estate as a retail leasing specialist where she spent the majority of her career specializing in outlet centers.  Ms. Buchko began her career in commercial real estate at Smithy Braeden and was a Regional Leasing Director for Konover Property Trust, one the largest shopping center developers in the Southeast, immediately prior to attending law school.

Before joining Real Estate Counselors, Ms. Buchko was an Attorney with the law firm of Arent Fox.

EDUCATION

Ms. Buchko received her B.A. in 1985 from the University of Virginia and her J.D. in 2003 from Campbell University.  She also attended Vanderbilt University in Aix-en-Provence, France in 1984.  Ms. Buchko is a member of the Virginia and the District of Columbia Bars and the American Bar Association.  She is admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Bruce G. Rosen

Bruce Rosen specializes in commercial real estate transactions, including office and retail leasing, acquisitions and sales of commercial properties, secured lending and joint ventures.  He also has experience in creditors' rights and commercial bankruptcy matters.

Before joining Real Estate Counselors, Mr. Rosen was an Attorney with the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld.

Mr. Rosen is the author of "When Office Landlords Lease to Retail TenantsPractical Real Estate Lawyer, September 2004.

EDUCATION

Mr. Rosen received his B.B.A. in 1989 and his J.D. with distinction in 1992 from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania Bars and the American Bar Association.

Gene M. Wasserman

Gene Wasserman concentrates in commercial real estate focusing on due diligence services, lease administration and leasing of retail, office and industrial properties. Gene spent the last ten years in Atlanta, Georgia representing clients in the acquisition, disposition, development, and lease administration of numerous real estate projects.

Before joining Real Estate Counselors, Mr. Wasserman was a Legal Analyst with Virtual Premises, Inc.

EDUCATION

Mr. Wasserman received his B.S. degree in Accounting in 1992 from the University of Maryland, and his Juris Doctorate with Honors in 1998 from the University of Florida College of Law. Gene is active in the community having served as Board Chairman of the City of Lawrenceville Development Authority and was appointed by the County Commissioner to the Gwinnett County Development Advisory Committee.  Mr. Wasserman is admitted to practice in Florida and Georgia.

Debra A. Blakney

Debra Blakney specializes in commercial retail leasing transactions, including drafting, negotiating and administrating in-line and anchor tenant leases (including modifications, assignments, terminations and relocations) for prospective and existing tenants in outlet malls, full-price shopping centers and mixed-use projects.

Before joining Real Estate Counselors, Ms. Blakney was a Leasing Specialist with the law firm of Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld.
